Queen B’s Decree: Animal is the story of Alec (club name Animal) and Drew. They both grew up in the MC, with the progression of childhood friends to lovers as they age. When Drew’s father is accused of being a traitor, Drew runs off, leaving the boy she always loved while believing he betrayed her.
Many years go by and Drew is back in town. It’s like they were never apart. Alec and Drew were two halves of a whole and couldn’t stay away from each other.
What I don’t like about second chance romances is the wasted time (usually due to a lack of communication) and often the hordes of women the Hero has been with in between. That didn’t happen here. Alec lived without Drew, but it was clear he was only just surviving and was incomplete without her. And Drew had constantly been on the run, never settling down, so it felt like she was just waiting for this moment too.
The MC vibe wasn’t too dark, so I’d definitely call it a Queen B approved MC.
The side characters and the plot twists were all interesting and integral, looking forward to more with this universe.
