Getting Off Easy by Erin Nicholas

Queen B’s Decree: I love everything Erin Nicholas does. She has never let me down.

Getting Off Easy is the fourth book in the Boys of the Big Easy series and it stars this super hot and irresistible firefighter James and his older neighbor, the Professor Harper. So what you have to know about James is this: while he is a flirt, he’s also super dependable. Dependable enough that people trust him to take care of olive trees, bearded dragons, puppies, you name it. So when he comes home to find a baby on his doorstep, he’s a little shocked but he rolls with it.

Harper is a little more emotionally detached, but her flirt-friendship with James has been bringing out the best in her. She and James work together to take care of “their” new baby, while trying to solve the puzzle of who his mother is and what they need to do next.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole read; I couldn’t put it down and read it in an entire sitting. The chemistry and connection between James and Harper was so strong, it nearly came out of the pages and slapped me in the face. Great depth of emotions, and what Erin Nicholas does best, amazing characterizations.

Best book of 2020 thus far.
