Queen B’s Decree: This was loosely based on the Disney movie Brave, but very loosely. Insolent stars Moira, and her life is not very Disney-esque. She’s living with abusive parents and siblings, and she’s just been told they’ve selected the man she will marry. All hell breaks loose at this celebration and most of her family gets slaughtered by an assassin, while Moira is taken alive.
From there, Moira’s strength is revealed. She continues to stand up to her captor Sol, and the two are drawn together. Moira and Sol are both damaged souls that seem to heal the other.
Insolent was full of suspense and surprises. Dark, yet lyrically told, Insolent was captivating.
