Queen B’s Decree: Breaker is the story of Sutton and Grady who have known each other most of their lives. Grady is the best friend of Sutton’s older brother, Jace, and her childhood crush on Grady just kind of never went away. Grady is from the “wrong side of the tracks,” so to speak, so he has never felt worthy of being a part of Jace and Sutton’s family.
I adored Grady. His backstory was heartbreaking and I loved that Sutton was able to get through to him. But that felt like it happened at the 50% mark or so. The rest of the story is this:
Grady: I love you
Sutton: No, I love you
Grady: No, I love you
Sutton: No, me more
And so on. It felt too repetitive and syrupy sweet. I hate to say this, but there was too much love in my love story. Still an enjoyable read, and I look forward to more from Harloe Rae.
