Read. Reign. Repeat.

Sweet Retribution by Siobhan Davis

Queen B’s Decree: Well, I am happy to have a conclusion to the whirlwind that was the Rydeville High Elite.

But I feel a little let down, overall. And I think I’ve narrowed it down to why.

Kaiden and Abby.

In hindsight, I never got behind Kaiden and Abby’s love story; I never felt it. And thus, I have a hard time believing in their love or caring about them at all, honestly. I’m more invested in the side characters, honestly.

There were certain moments and scenes that made me roll my eyes pretty hard (talking about you, near the end!), and others that I felt were OTT and not necessary to the story.

All is not lost, however, dear readers. Because Sweet Retribution still was an addicting and enthralling read. More OTT situations and circumstances, with twists and turns and secrets everywhere. I’m still 100% onboard with the next in the series as I can’t wait to see if Drew gets his own story.

Overall, I liked this series. But much of the angst and issues felt forced and unnatural. There truly were moments were we jumped the shark, so to speak, and that makes it feel like a caricature of itself.
