Queen B’s Decree: I have mixed feelings about Twisted Betrayal. See my bullet points below:
- highly addictive, enthralling story
- circumstances/incidents feel OTT
- characters lost their appeal or likability
- whole lot of betrayal going on (the title should have clued me in, huh?)
That being said, I was still highly entertained. Twisted Betrayal starts chronologically right after the end of Cruel Intentions. What follows is literally an insanely twisty and turny plot. So much gets thrown at you, it’s hard to keep up with what’s happening and who can be trusted.
I loved Abby in book #1, but she she lost some of her appeal to me here. She seems so bitter (rightfully so, I might add) but her actions don’t paint her as the strong heroine I thought she was. And her relationship with Kaiden? I’m starting to wonder why they love each other at all; all I can infer is lust.
All that being said, I am still firmly entrenched in this story. I will be on the edge of my seat for months until we get our conclusion in Sweet Retribution.
