Read. Reign. Repeat.

Like Dragonflies by K Webster and Danielle James

Queen B’s Decree: I’m not afraid of a little bit of taboo, so as soon as I saw this blurb I planned to read Like Dragonflies.

First off, this novel is co-written, but it is not apparent by the writing. It flows so well and is very cohesive. Secondly, if you remove the taboo factor, Like Dragonflies is basically a sweet little insta-love romance.

Mars and Sage are both square pegs attempting to fit in a round hole. Sage feels this soul crushing anxiety when her mother forces her into their elite social world, and Mars is crawling his way out of the trailer park. But as soon as the two meet – it’s like finding the other half of their soul.

The taboo here – half-siblings who fall in love – didn’t felt less forbidden to me. I suppose because they fell in love before realizing they shared blood, it doesn’t feel as “illegal” or “broken” as if they had been raised together as siblings.

Emotional, engaging, with well written sex scenes. Like Dragonflies doesn’t shy away from dark and difficult topics.
