Kiss and Break Up by Ella Fields

Queen B’s Decree: Welp. I don’t know how I feel about Kiss and Break Up. I stayed up late reading; I couldn’t put it down. But after a solid seven hours of sleep, I still couldn’t decide what I thought.

Here’s my bullet list of polarizing thoughts (and thus, my dilemma):

  • Dash is kind of an asshole.
  • But he’s 17 – weren’t we all assholes back then?
  • It’s kind of sweet (in a possessive, controlling way) how he didn’t want Peggy to date other guys.
  • But double standard – he hooks up with other girls?
  • Queen B, you love friends-to-lovers trope, especially when they grow up together.

I was so invested in the story and how it would end. I suppose that’s kudos to Ella Fields. She got me interested in characters I didn’t even like or connect with. Overall, I enjoyed this read, but perhaps not as much as I had hoped to. Definitely open to reading more from Ella Fields!
