Read. Reign. Repeat.

The Risk by Elle Kennedy

Queen B’s Decree: I’ve been looking forward to Jake and Brenna’s story since I finished The Chase. What’s not to like? Enemies-to-lovers, fake relationship that turns real, opposing teams? Need I go on?

The short and long of it is this: Brenna is bombing at an interview for an internship (due to the misogyny displayed by her potential boss) until Jake’s name comes up…and before you know it Jake and Brenna are in a fake relationship. But the only way Jake agrees to the fake date is if Brenna agrees to a real date.

The banter between the two is what made this book for me. Sarcastic, funny, witty, and sexy. But it wasn’t all fun and games. Definitely a lot of emotions going on too. Brenna opening up about her past, Jake realizing that he does, in fact, have emotions, and how they both slowly adjust to love.

Overall, The Risk was well paced, with great characters.
