Queen B’s Decree: I went into Abattoir blind (with the exception of the tiny little THIS IS PITCH BLACK warning from the authors) and I honestly think that’s the way to do it.
This is not a sweet M/M love story, that’s for damn sure. Oh there is love involved (and maybe a bit of codependency) but the love between Josi and Bishop is harsh and stark.
Abattoir is dark and twisted and sick and intense. Some scenes made me want to jump in bed and hide under the covers, yet I couldn’t stop reading. The twist that you know is coming draws you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Well written, and regardless of my feelings on the subject matter, Abattoir is a dark horrific masterpiece. Haunting and riveting.
