Queen B’s Decree: This was some dark shit. It started out darker than I am usually comfortable with, yet ended with a lighter note somehow? I don’t know how the author did it, but I got a happy ending of sorts.
Trouble and his chosen brothers lived in a sort of hell as children until their teen years. As adults, they’ve returned to their abandoned town and changed it into what we now know as Malus…AKA Malice. They mete out justice in their own way to keep the peace; a way that isn’t friendly to outsiders.
Remi wanders in unexpectedly when her car is near breaking down. Remi and Trouble have chemistry from the start although Trouble’s dark past has him resisting. Their story was both deeply emotional and dark, both characters suffering from the abuse of their pasts. Perhaps that’s what drew them to each other?
Great start to a new series and I can’t wait to read the next.
