Queen B’s Decree: I sometimes don’t like the whole friends-to-lovers trope. It just gets repetitive. But Friend Zone felt different. There was no main character sitting there, pining away for their BFF, while said BFF is blind to their feelings. Luckily, there was none of that in Friend Zone. What we got were two best friends who mutually came to realize that their friendship could and should be more.
Both Liam and Charlie act immature at times…but they’re young and in their first really important relationship, so they get a pass. I like how they treated each other; they truly cared about the other’s well-being. Liam and Charlie’s relationship felt natural…more like “what had you been waiting for?” Friend Zone was well written, including character depth I was not expecting.
This is the first book I’ve read by Nicole Blanchard, but I can assure you it won’t be my last.
